Conversations with the Goddess… About Creative Emergence

The imagery of dawn or dusk provides a powerful metaphor for the possibility of renewal and clarity of vision.  The emergence from darkness of one’s own inner mystery is a transformative passage.  As in birth, emergence is a sudden entry into a fresh, new world that needs to be communicated with and explored.

The most powerful and obvious interfaces of emergence occur in death and in birth.  However, the recognition of emergence in everyday life depends upon awareness and appreciation of transitions and passages, the inevitable rupture or fulfillment in situations and relationships that punctuate the flow of experience.  In the world of desires, feelings, and expectations, we are continually experiencing death and rebirth as illuminating thresholds of initiation.

There are a many tasks throughout the day that demand your time and attention, pulling your energy in many directions. Overwhelmed and frazzled, you spend more time getting less done. All your enthusiasm, creativity and love for what you do every day . . . you’ll wonder where it went.  Your heart will harden and you’ll lose sight of what is most sacred in your life.

Slow down and become aware of transitions through the natural rhythm of creation, through the cycles of time, the moon and your menses, and in the timelessness of loving and meditation – to sense into what is most meaningful. Be available to the inspiration of one’s emerging life.

In emergence, the initiation begins with a symbolic death, a giving up or surrender, symbolic of a return to the womb.  Enveloped in unborn space, within the fertile unknown, naked of preconceptions or memories, one sees and experiences things as they are – emerging into the only space there is in the moment, realizing the inherent sacredness of things.  And once again we’re reborn.  Repeatedly experiencing these momentary discoveries of the unconditioned womb of space, it feels fresh and new.  One begins to see the play of unceasing emergence.

Like the seasons, you move through phases, you evolve, shed, grow, and renew.  No matter where you are on the epic journey of becoming more of who you are, when pausing to attend your inner being, you nourish your innate wisdom that speaks from the quiet still place within; born out of the exquisite attention you give to yourself.  When we begin a dialogue with the intelligence of the universe dwelling within us, at the heart of which resides a profound sense of belonging, we rest into the ground of caring for ourselves, our community and our planet.

You have the ever evolving capacity to deepen and enrich the life of everyone around you with your vision, courage, fullness, and commitment to shaping a wholly positive emerging future.  A new world is not only possible. She is on Her way!
