When Awakening Feels Like Too Much!
If you are receiving this message, you are someone who has likely had some familiarity or grand experience with spiritual transformation. Or you’ve experienced your personal history being burned to ashes in the fires of Kundalini—releasing the old patterns of separateness that are imprinted in your cells. Life is revealing repetitive challenges and demanding that you release these strongholds to heal them and finally let them go. You’ve been given the task of having to walk the tightrope of the unknown, sometimes on a moment-to-moment basis.
This can be very overwhelming. You get tired. It’s exhausting. Sometimes, you just want to give up. It feels like you’re walking directly into a gale-force wind. When all you can do is lie down on the floor when you’re receiving a divine download — to escape your body even for just a moment to alleviate the intensity, as you ascend into the higher frequencies of meditation and hide away from the world. Yielding to the Divine — to the holy fire of the Living Truth, asks everything of you. And it can feel way too much!
You’ve forgotten temporarily that you are being healed by love — a Divine dispensation of grace.
We all have these moments. But there’s no time for discouragement. At some point on this pathless path, the Light will break through and all your dedication and devotion, all your healing efforts, and surmounting of the unbearable will be worth it. I see this everyday with my clients and students as they rise, just as you are rising to reclaim your Divine inheritance. They want to be the person whose life reflects the Living Truth of their awakening.
I also know that most of your efforts and commitments go unheralded, uncelebrated. All your surrendering to the Divine has gone unnoticed, as you sit on your meditation cushion, sometimes for hours! But you recognize that such acknowledgements and accolades are only fodder for the ego — the separate self.
I celebrate you, appreciate you, and offer blessings to you for answering the call of uncommon courage, as an apprentice to the great mystery.
I want to let you know that I recognize that you are out there in the mainstream alongside your adventures of awakening, not only for your own healing and remembrance of the Living Truth, but for this planet and all sentient beings. I honour your courage and devotion even though I know, like me, that you really have no other choice.
Your dedication to meeting the challenges and witnessing the wonder are indelibly marked in the deep mysterious caverns of your wild heart – where no stone is left unturned.
I celebrate you. I am grateful for you — for being of service to the wholeness of the world.
And I wrote this post for you — as inspiration and encouragement for those difficult days when you require a loving balm to carry you through.
Like you, I know that an epic transformative experience can bring as many challenges as it does gifts.
Your life can be thrown out of balance that has upended your life. You feel confused and your way forward is rendered unclear. But one thing is certain, it’s the end of your world as you’ve known it.
You’re trying to navigate the core-depth challenges of a deep shift that has turned your life upside-down and inside-out.
You cannot seek, strive or work your way through it. You can only surrender to its Truth.
A powerful inner prompting is calling you to navigate the mysterious terrain of embodied awakening and thrive under pressure as you align with a deeper human experience and higher planetary purpose. It’s time to remember who you were born to be and reclaim holy ground in your everyday life.
You want to stop the overwhelm, the intensity, and get some clarity and peace; to integrate your spiritual expansion into your everyday life and livelihood.
For the times when it just seems meaningless to do so much inner work to find your freedom. For the moments when its darkest before the light, for the seemingly mundane days when you just wish that awakening was complete. For the moments of uncertainty in the transformational alchemy of returning to the embrace of your Eternal Spirit. And, for the time when your ego just refuses to die to the Living Truth of Eternal Source.
Remembering your amazing true nature amid the everyday, commands uncommon courage.
There are days when the activities of daily living amidst awakening, the mundane, are all that you can manage to participate in as you perform your daily duties, including your spiritual practice. Then something prompts you to remember your own Divine Song.
Healing crisis. Unexpected loss. Recurring patterns in your relationships and emotions. A seemingly mass exodus of those you hold most dear. Spontaneous knowing. A sense of greater purpose for yourself in the world. A profound inner knowing of being prepared for a deeper mission. Brain fog. Sleep disruptions. Tingles in the head and zaps throughout the body. All of these and many more, are signs of an awakening of higher consciousness.
There is a cosmic shift occurring throughout the world that we’re feeling in our body, as humanity undergoes a long-awaited transition into the higher levels of human potential. No matter the stage of awakening you are navigating, the time is now to move beyond the patterning of the human condition and into a new reality of freedom, connection, and divine embodiment.
The deeper you dive into the interior of the Divine, the more readily the substratum of disbelief and egoic life distortions are released, and thus, the more directly the world transforms. The deeper you dive into your life re-genesis, the more the wounds of the past are resolved—reversing all degrees of climate change and living in a world where resources and opportunity are available for all. You gain a renewed clarity for an enhanced life purpose and direction, and the activation of your own dormant gifts.
All that is left is endless love.
There are days when the body reminds you of its sensitivities,disturbances, and disruptions, and even physical pain. You begin to believe that this is all you are, and all you ever will be. But in the intimacy with the Divine—all of this falls away. You remember that the pain is simply an indication that a higher consciousness is finding its way into your cells. Your attention wanders for a moment, only to return to the present moment to discover that Creation is all there is, and filling you up with wonder and potentiality.
There are days when the Divine Voice of your Spirit is so quiet that it’s almost imperceptible. Was this voice ever so clear as a temple bell as you remember it? Are you still as present as you once were?
Amidst the demands of our everyday life, remembering our amazing natures can be a challenge. During what seems unexciting or uninspired, we are reminded that paying attention to the present moment brings astonishment that reveals an underlying magic that alleviates the pain. It is here that our challenges are simply distractions. You know this and you lean into that. And the gift? You’ll directly receive the Divine directions for living an awakened life.
